    The weekend of FOSDEM 2024 has been annouced and we are excited for another in-person Open Source Design devroom! Join us in Brussels for design talks, discussion and fun! Here’s everything you need to know about getting to the Open Source Design devroom at FOSDEM. The Open Source Design community groups welcomes and encourages folks from both design and non-design backgrounds to submit talks related to design to the dev room and attend the talks in the devroom. If you’d like a buddy or someone to chat to before joining us you can check out our discourse forum.

Every year, thousands of free and open source software contributors from all over the world gather at the event in Brussels, Belgium. After the roaring success of FOSDEM 2023, we are gearing up for the next edition of FOSDEM, taking place at the Université Libre Brussels on 3rd and 4th February 2024.

    The Libre Graphics Meeting (LGM) is an annual meeting of free and open source graphics software users and developers.

  • Libre Graphics Track at Southern California Linux Expo (SCaLE) 2018

    SCaLE 16X – the 16th annual Southern California Linux Expo – will take place on March. 8-11, 2018, at the Pasadena Convention Center. SCaLE 16X expects to host 150 exhibitors this year, along with nearly 130 sessions, tutorials and special events. SCaLE is the largest community-run open-source and free software conference in North America. It is held annually in the greater Los Angeles area.

    Our next open source design meet-up will present our group’s mission and overseas members, along with a recap of the FOSDEM conference. We will also do a quick introduction on the Riot messaging app (a Slack open source competitor) and show you how to communicate on this new platform.

    Calling Open Source Design enthusiasts living in NYC and around, please join us for our next meetup on looking at the intersection between accessibility, inclusive design, and open source. This will be given by Atul Varma, who is known for building bridges of understanding between humans and machines. He has written illuminating software that’s been used as the centerpiece of TED Talks, in maker events around the world, and by individuals who are just trying to have a less frustrating time using their computer. But his favorite moments are very personal: understanding where another person is coming from, constructing a metaphor they can relate to, and using it to explain technology in a way that liberates, excites, and empowers.
