The Scribe community makes Wikidata powered language learning applications. Our main applications are an iOS and soon to be released Android application that has keyboards for second language learners with functionalities like translation, verb conjugation and noun annotation to learn genders. As a community we’re looking for design support to help us with the launch of our website at scri.be as well as designs for the applications that we work on. A better design for the mobile-app

Collabfinder is an open-source platform for finding collaborators for your projects (apps, libraries, UI toolkits, whatever you want to work on actually). would like to have a complete redesign of everything as the current look is based on the boilerplate project. I’m open to changing everything - logo, landing page, name, app, typography etc. I didn’t market the app properly yet (shared it only in a few places) as there are still some useful features to be added; it only has ~40 registered users right now so it’s can’t be used just yet (therefore I’m posting my help request here as well).

The app is and always will be completely free and fully open-source. The idea for this is to be a simple community project. Therefore if someone is willing to contribute the new design you would only get the full credit on the project readme and app credits page (TBD).

Fix broken design of the c:geo Android Geocaching app

c:geo an open-source, full-featured, always ready-to-go Geocaching application for Android devices.

The basis of the current app design is very old and was extended over the years with new screens and dialogs implemented by different volunteer developers without always following a strict style guideline.

Recently we needed to change the target Android version, causing multiple UI failures and broken dialogs. We fixed it as good as we could, but due to a lack of contributors experienced with Android UI and style guidelines we are unable to make it consistent again.

The first goal would be to fix the existing design and make it look consistent again over all screen and dialogs in the app.

Hi,

Thank you for visiting this job post. The Sleepe Owl project is a fully open source and fully free learning application.

We are looking for good and experienced Logo and Branding specialist. Who’s main task will be design our brand on the website, mobile application and advertisements.

Why we do this? Becase the knowledge of math, physics, languages, programming, etc… should be free. In my country, in Hungary the social education program is old and bad, with really old habits (30 years old at least). I know the situation is the same in a lot of country in the world. Nowadays, in the life we have a bunch of problems what the social education can’t resolve and to reach the necessarry knowledge you should pay a bunch of money.

So, the purpose of this project is to collect a bunch of developers, designers, editors and teachers, to make a huge collaboration for the free and perfect education.

I hope in the human goodness, because I do this project for free to have a better generation of kids and adults who can solve the problems of today and tomorrow.

I started this project on 2018/03/30. We have a GitHub organization and a simple website. The GitHub organization is https://github.com/Sleepe-Owl where you can find a repository called sleepe-owl-design where we will store our design files.

What I ask from you? Just to collaborate to this project with ideas with knowledge or with design our brand.

Hours? I don’t care, if you have some minutes, hours or days of your free time please come to me and do something together.

What we do right now? I’m designing our landing page in sketch (you can find everything in the repository) to share some information about the project.

Logo for small financial XML document reader GTK app

CODAv is a small tabular CODA viewer application for Linux. CODA files encode European credit transfers (SEPA) in a standard way and financial people aren’t that comfortable with XML files. The application aims to make it easier for them inspect the contents of the file.

CODAv is nothing too serious, it’s more a way to learn how to build and distribute Linux software. It currently reads CODA XML files and I would like to add a way to modify and save changes to those files at a later stage. It will never be a big project but more a little tool that hopefully proves useful to some people.

I am willing to pay for your work if you can invoice (freelancers for example) since I need proof for the payment on my side.
