Improving the two webpages of a simple web interface to a metadata-removal tool

Mat2 is an open-source metadata removal tool. Currently the two main ways of using it are either the command line interface, of a file-browser extension. I recently wrote a web interface to make it more accessible to non-technical people (see the demo instance here), but it doesn’t look super-pretty. Some journalist organizations already deployed their own private instance, but their users are complaining about the lack of prettiness and usability of it.

Since I don’t know much about UX/accessibility, help would be more than welcome ♥

Hi,

Thank you for visiting this job post. The Sleepe Owl project is a fully open source and fully free learning application.

We are looking for good and experienced Logo and Branding specialist. Who’s main task will be design our brand on the website, mobile application and advertisements.

Why we do this? Becase the knowledge of math, physics, languages, programming, etc… should be free. In my country, in Hungary the social education program is old and bad, with really old habits (30 years old at least). I know the situation is the same in a lot of country in the world. Nowadays, in the life we have a bunch of problems what the social education can’t resolve and to reach the necessarry knowledge you should pay a bunch of money.

So, the purpose of this project is to collect a bunch of developers, designers, editors and teachers, to make a huge collaboration for the free and perfect education.

I hope in the human goodness, because I do this project for free to have a better generation of kids and adults who can solve the problems of today and tomorrow.

I started this project on 2018/03/30. We have a GitHub organization and a simple website. The GitHub organization is https://github.com/Sleepe-Owl where you can find a repository called sleepe-owl-design where we will store our design files.

What I ask from you? Just to collaborate to this project with ideas with knowledge or with design our brand.

Hours? I don’t care, if you have some minutes, hours or days of your free time please come to me and do something together.

What we do right now? I’m designing our landing page in sketch (you can find everything in the repository) to share some information about the project.

Kiwi IRC web client design

Kiwi IRC is a modern web IRC client built with Node.js and Vue.

The lead developer Darren aka prawnsalad could use a hand with the interface presentation and layout.

I believe with this modern web client approach we can get rid of the image of IRC as a clunky and opaque interaction tool. Having the power of server-side makes all sorts of magical things possible (storage, data processing etc.). The ideal would be to GUIfy everything, so the non-techy user will not have to face any frightening /commands. I guess the hardest will be inventing a GUI for even the ChanServ commands like setting various flags for channels.

Perhaps the first step would be conducting a competitive analysis of new and emerging chat platforms.

UI Designer for account management interface project

UI Design for remoteStorage-connect widget/dialog

This is a freelance gig for improving the user interface and experience of a general-purpose open-source library, used in many different apps.

RemoteStorage in a nutshell: users can tell Web apps to sync data where they want it, without the app developer ever hosting or touching their data. Users can choose between Google Drive, Dropbox or RemoteStorage. The latter is an open-source protocol that can be used by anyone to create data storage/sync servers. App developers can use this library to easily integrate support for data sync via these options into their apps.

You will be responsible for re-designing the connect/sync UI, which apps offer by default when they use remoteStorage.js.

The work is sponsored by 5apps, a commercial provider of remoteStorage accounts.
